PRAYER UPDATE FROM YOUTH IMPACT KISUMU AND NYAHURURU

Dear Ministry Partner,

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassion’s never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:21-23

As we reflect on the past month and think of how God has been faithful and good to us, we can truly say that He has been a great source of support to Youth Impact Kisumu and Nyahururu through you, as we’ve labored to serve our teenagers in various schools. We’re also so grateful to you for lifting us up in prayer regularly. Prayer is powerful, and God’s answers to many of our petitions this month have allowed us to experience much joy and Grace. This month we did see the hand of God as we reached out to teenagers in various schools. The Lord gave us 2 new schools, raising our population from 37838 to 40398. We also witnessed 452 Soul's submitting to the Lordship of Christ and 343 rededicated their lives to Christ. We also gave out 24 Bibles and over 310 copies of discipleship materials.

Prayer.

“There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the voltures eye hath not seen: The lion’s whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed it. “(Job 28:7-8)

There is a path, a place which no fowl knows. That place is the secret place, that glorious place so secure and protected that no demonic power can find it. It is a place hidden in God that no vulture’s eye has seen. No demon on earth or satan, the enemy of our souls, has seen or knows. It is a place of refuge, a place of safety that no lion’s whelps (principalities and powers) pass by—not even the lion, satan. That place is the place of prayer. Prayer has been and will continue to be the cause of the great results we’re experiencing in Kisumu and Nyahururu. We continue to meet every Saturday for prayers.

Discipleship.

We are not just about leading people to Christ, but we're a team that builds, roots and develop young people who are ready to be presented before Christ, mature and perfect. This past month we discipled 2002 students across 18(including the new schools we got) schools and we're trusting God to initiate discipleship program in some other schools’ next term.

Testimony.

There’s nothing so sad like to be rejected by your mother and teacher. The girl pictured below was rejected by her mother who never believed in her, she only saw a burden in her and on the other side her teacher saw a failure who never deserved to sit in her class and even started calling her names. When we first went to her school, she came to us after the sermon presentation and shared with us what she was going through, the Lord used us in helping her regain her passion and the desire to study and to believe that its only God who had the final say in her life. After months of counseling the girl today is strong and can stand before her fellow students to encourage and to remind them of how faithful our God is.

Upcoming goals.
We're trusting God for more schools in Nyahururu and Kisumu at least five or four and we’ve already contacted some schools in these regions. We’re also praying and trusting God to have a training for the volunteers and the Christian union patrons in Kisumu and Nyahururu.

Prayer Requests.

*Thank God for the successful month of June.

*Thank God for three volunteers who have joined us.

*Thank God for the car that has been a great help to us and pray that God will provide for its maintenance.

*Pray that God burdens the hearts of the patrons we’ve already contacted for partnership with their schools

*Pray for the ongoing work in Nyahururu

*Pray that God will provide more resources and even faithful volunteers.

*Pray for one of our volunteers who has been sick for the past two weeks.

Conclusion.
Our prayers and efforts are focused on gospel movements to schools that are near and far and your support (your generosity enables us to lean into this upcoming term with confidence as we invest deeply in the Lord’s work) helps that work continue by enabling us to come alongside principals, patrons and volunteers who are ready to go out of their way and be used of God. Our hope is that the Holy Spirit moves in extraordinary ways where the gospel goes deep and impacts teenagers. Pray that the ground softens where it is hard, that the Spirit would move in extraordinary ways beyond anything we could imagine. Once again thank you for standing with us at a time when the world is facing a huge economic crisis.

With deep gratitude,

James Otieno.
